Last Night

Last night was not a good night. The stress of everyday life and the emotions of feeling stuck really hit T and I very, very hard -- each on an individual level. We both are frustrated because we feel like we are spinning our wheels, and we both have our individual "to-do" lists that are not getting done. Since we see things differently and our daily priorities of what we want to get done do not coincide right now, we clashed... and we clashed hard and loud. Through the last 10-yrs of marriage (14-yrs of relationship), we have gotten much better at moving through the "rough" times... but especially over the past 5-years, we really have developed better coping skills just out of pure necessity. We truly value and appreciate that a successful marriage is something that you have to work at, but no one really talks about it out-loud, no one really talks about the bad times, and the struggles. I know that once we get back to being "balanced" again and off this roller-coaster of emotions... it won't seem as significant as it does now. However, that is just the trick... just to enduring, knowing that it this is just a "moment," and this too will pass. We both know this in our hearts and minds, but our energy levels are just so low that it is hard to just keep enduring and waiting, especially when we are stressed and tired. I know that the next phase of our lives will present itself with new and probably even tougher challenges that will further develop our coping skills... but I am just tired of this phase of my life of waiting... As T said when we went to bed last night, "Tomorrow is a new day, let's just go from there..."
